Afro-hair winning!

Hey, have you seen the new trends going on with black hair?
In all honesty, it is a delightful thing to see, girls loving and
owing to their hair like never before, for many generations we were told and
showed that our crowns weren’t good enough for anything, resulting in us having
zero confidence in our hair but the good news is that over the years black women have
embraced natural hair and I’m over the moon with excitement, having confidence
and pride in what we hated for generations is magical.
Apart from our rich symbols that are demonstrated
in hairstyles and pieces, black hair is just pure magic period. I love what
being in natural hair feels like; it’s a wonderful thing seeing those strongly
textured hair strings of a thousand curls growing out of a human head.
Most of you can perhaps relate to this story when I was in
primary school my little sister and I was at a majority white school and at every
assembly, a teacher would call my sister out and pull her hair to make sure it was all her hair and not a wig, from such experiences it is only self-hate and low
self-esteem that can come out of that, however being the warriors we are, we
overcame this and excelled.
Today black women are celebrating black hair, rocking braids
dreads, and high on top Afros, setting examples for the next generations, ensuring
they never ever have to go through what we have gone through with our hair and
beauty as a whole, black women have embraced themselves to a point where the world
is listening, brands are manufacturing products for black hair and Afro hair is
officially here to slay for at least eternity.
May Afro go beyond a trend, amen.
